The British Fitness Awards have always celebrated the people and organisations that go above and beyond to make a difference within our industry. This year, few organisations have made a bigger impact than Lifestyles Fitness Centres.

Across multiple categories, staff members, programmes and centres from across the Lifestyles family have received recognition, showcasing the incredible work taking place every single day across Liverpool's community leisure network.
Celebrating the People Behind the Success
A huge congratulations goes to the following team members who have been recognised in the prestigious Staff Member category:
Ellie Taylor, Gym Instructor
Jo Taylor, Receptionist
Natalie Wainwright, Receptionist and Swim Coordinator
Gaynor Jones, Swim Coordinator
Samantha Keig, Receptionist
Their nominations reflect the passion, professionalism and commitment that make community leisure centres far more than just places to exercise.

Recognition for Liverpool's Leisure Centres
Lifestyles has also earned recognition in the Leisure Centre category with nominations for:
Lifestyles Ellergreen
Liverpool Aquatics Centre
Both venues continue to play a vital role in improving health, fitness and wellbeing opportunities for communities across Liverpool.

Championing Health and Inclusion
The Lifestyles Health & Wellbeing Programme has deservedly been shortlisted in the Health and Wellbeing Provider category, recognising the important work being done to support residents on their health journeys.

Meanwhile, Lifestyles Active8 has received recognition in the Inclusive Impact Award category, highlighting the programme's commitment to ensuring physical activity remains accessible, welcoming and inclusive for everyone.
Outstanding Instructors Leading the Way
The strength of any fitness facility lies within its instructors, and Lifestyles has some of the very best.
Congratulations to:
Aaron McCann
Jay Taylor
Cathy Curlett
for earning nominations within the Instructor category.
Aaron McCan has also gone one step further, receiving a second nomination in the prestigious Paul McHugh Award category alongside Emmer Ryder, recognising exceptional contributions to the fitness industry and wider community.
The Paul McHugh Award is named in honour of Paul McHugh, a much‑loved and highly respected instructor at Lifestyles whose warmth, dedication, and passion for helping others left a lasting impact on colleagues, members, and the wider community. This award celebrates his legacy by recognising individuals who embody the same spirit of kindness, commitment, and positive influence that Paul brought to Lifestyles every day.

Recognising Outstanding Leadership
Behind every successful leisure centre is a team of leaders who keep everything moving, supporting staff, members and communities alike.
This year, Lifestyles is also proudly represented in the Fitness Manager category by:
Ste Kearns – Manager at Lifestyles Ellergreen
Colin Campbell – Manager at Lifestyles Garston
Laura Pudvine – Health & Activity Manager
Their nominations are recognition of the leadership, innovation and dedication they bring to their roles every day. From developing teams and programmes to creating welcoming environments that encourage people to become more active, their work has a lasting impact across Liverpool's communities and the wider fitness industry.
A Proud Moment for Lifestyles
British Fitness Awards founder Jase Porter reflected on the achievements:
"After so many years involved with both the British Fitness Awards and Lifestyles, it's amazing to see so many colleagues recognised for the incredible work they do every day. Seeing staff members, programmes and centres across the organisation receive nominations is something everyone connected to Lifestyles should be extremely proud of."
More Than Just a Gym
These nominations represent something bigger than awards.
They represent early mornings opening facilities, late nights supporting members, swimming lessons that build confidence, health programmes that change lives and instructors who inspire people to become more active.
